Family dealerships support Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Services
Yark Automotive Group is helping families in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan who are living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. The company donated a portion of the proceeds from every car it sold in December 2016 to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Services. The Yark family announced the donation at a special ceremony on Thursday, April 6, 2016, at their BMW of Toledo showroom on Central Avenue.
“All of us at Yark Automotive Group are so grateful to the community for supporting our businesses,” says Emily Yark, the company’s Community Relations Manager. “This is one way for us to give back.”
“Our family has personally experienced Alzheimer’s disease,” adds Yark, “so we understand the urgent need for an agency such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Services.”
Michael M. Malone, board chair for Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Services, says that Yark Automotive Group’s donation will support area families throughout the disease’s entire course—from early diagnosis to end of life. Funds will help expand programming at the agency’s adult day center and increase the number of families served.
“We are so appreciative to Yark Automotive Group for their generous contribution,” says Malone. “The Yark family has a strong, proven commitment—demonstrated through a long history of generous giving—to helping people in our community.”
Yark Automotive Group includes Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, BMW, Subaru, Nissan, and Toyota dealerships, as well as used car sales and a body shop.
